Guest List: Who Will You Invite to the Party?

By Simon Andrew

When making a guest list there are numerous factors that you have to consider. Some of the questions you need to ask yourself include:

1.) Who is the party for?

2.) Why are you holding the party?

You must therefore invite the right people to the party because inviting the wrong people will ruin the party you had planned for. If you're organizing a party for someone else then you should ask him to give you a list of folks who will be invited to attend it. If it is a formal party such a marriage, then there are particular people who need to be invited to the party. If it's a new baby's baptism party, you have to invite close family if you do not want to arouse bad feelings in the family. There are some individuals that must be invited to the party depending on what you are celebrating.

Small dinner parties and any other party that is an intimate affair demand that you invite friends to the party based totally on how they mingle. For example, if your closest friend and your sister do not get along with each other, then it'll be unwise if you invite them to the party. They will not enjoy the party since they do not get along with one another unless they are put in two separate party rooms. Likewise, consider the dynamics of the group or business comrades that you are inviting for a cocktail party before adding them to the guest list. Consider the relationship that exists between the guests you want to invite because if they do not get along with one another during the party, then the party will end up being disastrous.

If you are holding a bachelorette party it's vital to take your time in planning and knowing the right people to send bachelorette party invitations card. If you are having a party for teens you have to take additional caution. You have to consider the possibility that some of them will carry illegal substances and thus you've to assign adults to supervise them.

There are those guests who weren't invited and they will want to sneak their way in. To avoid this, you must get an adult at the entrance door so that he/she checks the names of guests invited before they are allowed to enter the party. If the name of any individual isn't in the list they should not be allowed to enter.

If you are planning to host a surprise party for a member of your family, then you have to invite close friends of your family. Consider also inviting other people that family member would want to attend the party. You should make the party surprise by leaving him/her in suspense. For example, you can choose one person to welcome the honored guest at a time when every invited guest arrives.

The guest list is one way of getting prepared for a party. This is the first thing that should come in mind when planning the party because you, your friends and the guests invited should enjoy it. However, if you invite the wrong guests the party will go sour irrespective of how hard you try.
