Steps To Moving Videos From An SD Card To DVD

By Gloria Gardner

Moving your precious videos from SD card to DVD is an easy process. The steps are not complicated and chances are all you will need to buy are blank discs. In order to correctly do this there are some important steps to follow.

Secure digital cards are what your using in your camera to save your pictures and videos. Moving them to a computer can be done in a couple of different ways. Some of the ports will already be on the computer others may not.

Most cameras will come with a micro USB to USB cable. The smaller end plugs into the camera and the bigger one into your PC's available USB slots. Once plugged in you should copy all of the photos and place them in a folder. For movies place them in separate folders as well.

There are many modern PC's that come with a slot that will accept these secure digital cards. Once inserted you will be able to copy the photos or movies onto your computers hard drive. Its a good idea to copy them to a specific folder for easy tracking.

Upon completion of copying those files its time to burn them to a digital video disc. You will need to have some blank ones available. They will either be 'R' or 'RW' the later being short for rewritable. These allow you to go back and add more things to the disc. Once you have placed a blank disc in your computer specify the folder you want burned and set it to burn.

The transfer of videos from sd card to dvd is a simple process. Copy those video files from the cards to your computer and place them in folders. The blank disc once inserted will bring up a screen that will allow your to burn that specially created folder on the computer.
