Nothing Beats Irish Dance Lessons

By Janell Bowers

When a person signs up for Irish dance lessons they can feel as if they were magically transported to a simpler time. It is a very European feeling to imagine that one is light as a feather, floating over green pastures and beautiful meadows. A person might think of lush green meadows from the Emerald Isle.

Europe and many other locations have witnessed the growth and the main stream assimilation of the culture of Ireland. While their cuisine may not be so well respected, the friendliness and warmth of a family who is Irish leaves nothing to chance. Tourists will spend a lot of cash to get so close to their roots.

The Irish have emigrated far beyond the boundaries of their ancestral homeland. There are people of this descent in almost every country in the world. Some nations have higher concentrations, like the United States of America. But these people have been pioneers, travelling across the world to settle on remote corners of the earth and help shape and change the cultures of these native lands.

There are many famous figures in the culture of this green island. Liam Neeson is a famous actor, and so is Colin Firth. John F. Kennedy was also of this type of ancestry, and he was known to appreciate his heritage. The people of this type of descent are well renowned for their prowess in theater and the arts of being a thespian. Many great comedians, story tellers and actors are prominent people who share this ethnic back ground.

Many native cultures from all around the world have their own style of native dance. This tradition binds their people together as a culture and creates a shared commonality that they all understand. It can be the glue that keeps a people together, even after they have become a diaspora.

When a person is looking for lessons in any form of body movement, it is good to find the right teacher. Video sessions may be available on line, or it may be best to go to a real, physical location. That is for more of a hands on experience. The physical benefits of learning this type of movement include improved balance, better circulation and an abundance of self confidence.

Kilts are over rated for certain. It's a misnomer to think that these male skirts are from the mother land of Ireland because they are not. They are used and have been traditionally worn mostly in Scotland as opposed to the green island of leprechauns. But whether or not one decides to wear a kilt during this traditional Hibernian exercise, it is necessary to wear a sturdy and supportive pair of underwear to prevent drafts and spoilage while taking Irish dance lessons.

Irish dance lessons can provide great family fun for adults and children of all ages. Any one can participate with a doctor's consent. Just about every one may enjoy, learn and participate in this rich art form, steeped in culture and tradition.
