Introducing the Queen Anne's Revenge from Lego

By Raymond Jurgensmeier

In terms of kids playthings and puzzles, LEGO is undoubtedly a brand that would ring bells; ever since 1949 they've provided numerous children across the world with a chance to let their thoughts run wild with colourful iconic blocks of many sizes, forms and colors.

Luckily, the Danish company has effectively passed the test of time and even today they're a large participant in the children's toy business, and among their hottest products being the LEGO 4195 Queen Anne's Revenge. This set recreates the tale from the prevalent film Pirates of the Caribbean and its reputable and alluring, Queen Anne's Revenge. The vessel comes with LEGO figures Backbeared, Jack Sparrow, Angelica, the quartermaster plus two pirate miniatures.

The LEGO 4195 Queen Anne's Revenge set comes with:

- 1097 pieces in total. - The set features a ship with large sails, spectacular fire lanterns, and canons. - Figures comprise of: Jack Sparrow, Angelica, Blackbeard, chef two pirate figures. - Detachable captain's quarters.

To commence, this set is most clearly a high grade LEGO set (which is shown from its price). LEGO has done an excellent job with the level of detail, and it's unfair to compare this set with a lot of other LEGO sets. The set is really detailed it almost becomes less of a toy and more of a showpiece model. All of the pieces are manufactured from quality materials, plus the little plastic blocks are seemingly unbreakable as they always were.

One of the crucia attractive areas of LEGO is the fact you are by no means forced to refer to the instructions and can easily come up with a little something of your own. Having over a thousand pieces, the LEGO 4195 Queen Anne's Revenge certainly will give you the versatility to bring the story of Blackbeard and Jack Sparrow to life as you see fit.

Individuals who want to assemble the ship the actual way it was intended to be done could be relieved to find out that there are seven unique bags ideally labelled 1 through 7, every one of them coming with unique instructions. If you aren't looking for something too complex, this might be just the right fit. Obviously, one can always make the process challenging by disregarding the instructions and just mixing up each of the pieces; so you are really the one deciding how complicated the complete process will probably be.

Having said that, it's only truthful to say even the oldest and most solid businesses cannot make the perfect product as there are indeed some weak spots with this ship. The thing is, even though each piece is individually created from quality materials, the entire process of assembly can become annoying at times because there are some pieces which don't hold together very tightly and are easily disconnected. This could really turn into a problem if the set is meant for a young child as they tend to have little patience when it comes to such things. This especially goes for the masts as they can come off very easily, not to mention the captain's deck being somewhat fragile.

In general, it's only fair to state that LEGO has done a tremedous task with detailing this lovely set. It's definitely a gorgeous looking ship and makes a perfect gift idea for almost anyone (not just kids). While it's true that the set comes with some small drawbacks, it's still absolutely something worth purchasing if you are looking to have Blackbeard's ship displayed in your house or simply just trying to have fun with letting ideas run wild on a thousand LEGO pieces.
